Candy Shaw
Candy Shaw (née Churilla) is a Bay Area-based comedian who recently played Kristi Noem in the “Jesus Roast” in SF Sketchfest. She studied improv with Chapel Hill North Carolina-based company Actors Improv Theater for years while also performing in various scripted projects. Soon after producing and starring in her own play “Sex, Drugs, and Dinner,” she moved to the Bay Area intending to join an improv troupe or start her own. A fellow improviser encouraged her to try standup. After her first set at San Francisco’s legendary Brain Wash Cafe open mic, she kept performing and went on to appear on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and placed 3rd in California’s Funniest Female Contest. This Comedy Oakland favorite has performed at the Oakland Comedy Festival and San Francisco‘s unique comedy celebration, Comedy Day. She’s opened for such greats as Mark Curry, Will Durst, Bobcat Goldthwait, Marga Gomez, Ms. Pat, Rob Schneider, and Tom Segura.
